Using Kite behind a proxy

You can use Kite behind a proxy if your company/ organization has one.

Kite will try to detect your proxy configuration from your system automatically so that you don’t need to do anything. This enables features like docs search in Kite's Copilot app even while behind a proxy.

However, if you're experiencing issues with Kite at work, you may need to adjust your proxy settings.

Custom configuration

You can manually configure proxy settings by opening the Copilot desktop app, clicking on the settings icon in the lower right corner, and then clicking on “Custom” for the proxy.

Please note that the http:// option will work for both HTTP and HTTPS proxies.

Kite released support for proxy configurations in July 2019.
